War of the First Coalition (1792 - 1797)

France wins against Austria/HRE, Great Britain and annexes Netherlands.

War of the Second Coalition (1798 - 1802)

France with Spain defeats Austria/HRE, Russia and the now called United Kingdom.

War of the Third Coalition (1805 - 1806)

Napoleon wins against Sweden, Austria/HRE, Russia and the UK. The HRE is dissolved, Napoleon is crowned Emperor and the Austrian Empires and the Rhine confideration follow the HRE. The Continental System by Napoleon as a blockade against the United Kingdom comes into place.

Trafalgar 1805 (British sea victory against France and Spain).

War of the Fourth Coalition (1806 - 1807)

Napoleon defeats decisively Russia, Prussia, Saxony and the UK.

Famous battle: Jena-Auerstedt 1806 (French victory against Prussia).

Peninsular War (1807-1814)

France together with Spain invades Portugal. After the desastrous invasion of Russia, Portugal regains independence with the help of the UK. Spanish guerillas eventually defeat French forces to regain independence aswell.

Finnish War (1808 - 1809)

Russia with French helps defeats Sweden that has British support. Finland becomes part of the Russian Empire.

War of the Fifth Coalition (1809)

Napoleon defeats Austria, again.

Famous battle: Aspern 1809 (Austrian victory).

French invasion of Russia (1812)

Russia started trading with Britain again. Napoleon therefore ordered the desatrous invasion of Russia, loosing several 100’000 of men on cold and disease. They went into Moscow that was burned beforehand by the inhabitants. The retreat from Russia was catastropic.

War of the Sixth Coalition (1812 - 1814)

The coalition of Russia, Prussia, Austria, the UK and Sweden defeat Napoleon. Napoleon is banished to Elba. The congress of Vienna starts.

Famous battle: Leipzig 1813 (Coalition victory) - Völkerschlacht.

War of the Seventh Coalition (1815) - Hundred Days

Unsatisfied French people with Louis XVIII. made the return of Napoleon easier. Napoleon looses against the coaltion of UK, Prussia and Austria.

Famous battle: Waterloo 1815 (Prussia and UK win).
